This session in Sneads Ferry featured a few of my favorite things - the first and foremost being this lovely family. If you have followed my work over the last couple of years, you may recognize their faces as they were one of my last sessions (at the beach in a drizzly rain... and the images were beautiful!) before I went on official maternity leave with my twins.
Side note: Their last session on the beach is featured in my Portfolio, that you can find on the left side of the screen.
Second, the session was shot about an hour before sunset - when the light is this beautiful golden glow. You have to be careful shooting at this hour. It is easy to get too much haze in the image or everything (and everyone) looks very orange, but when it is done right, without too much haze, without too much orange... ah.
My final favorite thing was the location - and not just the pier and the creek, which was truly lovely and sweet. The pier belonged to their neighborhood and after shooting some images there, we went back to their house to take a few pictures there. The heart of my photography has always been sincere, connected images that are meaningful to the families I work with. I love shooting on the beach. I love shooting on the water in general. I also LOVE being able to shoot an image simply on the front steps of a home.
I am currently booking family and newborn photography sessions in Emerald Isle beach, Swansboro, Jacksonville, Sneads Ferry and all the places in between for fall 2016.
